A TALE OF TWO TRIPS

It feels like we’ve spent as much time riding outside of Austin as not lately. From arid desert descents to moody PNW hills, things have looked a little different. And still, there’s no place like home…

Two trips in two months? Bring it on.

It feels like we’ve spent as much time riding outside of Austin as not lately. From arid desert descents to moody PNW hills, things have looked a little different lately.

August arrived and with it, our 5th birthday. It’s hard to know where the time has gone – blink and we’ve gone from 20 people at Carpenter to 800+ on the regular at Central Machine Works. The same communal feel weaving it all together.

We hit the road and headed for the desert – a weekend in Santa Fe to celebrate, and what a weekend it was. Our favorite climb got even sweeter with a repave and a celebration on top. Then DJ Grossyall was spinnin’ the tunes away poolside all afternoon. Perhaps best of all, we got a little fancy with it and had ourselves a Southwest semi-formal, hats and boots dotting the El Rey lawn. What a way to celebrate.

Fast forward to September and we found new terrain to explore. A whole crew of Ride Leaders and members made the journey north for a truly unforgettable experience.

Portland and its people welcomed us with open arms and treated us to a weekend like no other. From DT Swiss to Chamois Butt’r, Pas Normal Studios, Nike and more, the support was second to none and the vibes were at an all time high. We could go on and on about eating waffles on the Nike campus, or drinking endless amounts of good coffee. Or hanging out for way too long in kit drinking beers and eating chicken wings. The best part though? The people. That’s where Portland really shines, and we can’t wait to do it again soon.

And yet, there’s no place like home. So it’s back to a healthy does of heat and some Oktoberfest celebrations that we’ve been looking forward to for some time.

THE HEAT IS ON

Swim Club, Gravel Gang, Central Machine Works and a whole lot more. We’re diving straight into summer with hot hills, trips to the lake, and some ice cold beers. What more could ya ask for?

Spring was great while it lasted. And it wasn’t for very long. May rolled into June and before ya know it the heat is here to stay. So why not embrace it?

Night time gravel rides have become a thing here at Breakfast Club, so on Friday the 13th we journeyed out to Paige, TX to escape the city and enjoy the countryside. Not to mention the post ride hot dogs that just hit different with a lil dust between the teeth.

Fast forward one week and the temps continued to rise. So we teamed up with Chamois Butt’r and rolled on down to Commons Ford for yet another edition of SUNDAY SWIM CLUB.

Hot hills? Check. Cold water? In spades. Our best merch yet? Probably.

And last but not least, one of our biggest rides to date. And a DT Swiss afterparty to remember. Hot hills under the summer sun followed up by a HUB ASSEMBLY TOURNAMENT at Central Machine Works. Breakfast Club ain’t always about the competitive side of things, but when there’s a shiny new wheelset on the line, well, you can guess what happens next…

Thank y’all for climbing with us and for throwing down at the DT SWISS HUB ASSEMBLY tournament. A head-to-head bracket of 32 whittled down to three. Congrats to our winners, and thanks to all who joined in on the fun. We’re already scheming on the next one…

Five rides down, five to go. Let’s keep it rolling!

SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Thankfully, we’ve had more sun than last year. Let’s keep it going! New Babes rides, a SXSW party to remember, a trip to D-town, and a lot more on the way.

We’re back baby! Two rides down, many more to go. Feels crazy to say we’re 25% through ‘25 but here we are. Same van, new look. New Babes rides. A SXSW party to remember. A trip to Dallas. It’s been a good year so far and we’re just getting started.

In stark contrast to last year, we’ve lucked out so far with the weather. Mostly. A quick pivot in February meant sunshine and blue skies to kick off the year with DT Swiss and a whole fleet of new wheels to boot. If you haven’t seen our Ride Leaders rolling around on ‘em, chances are it’s ‘cause they’re goin’ too fast.

A new year means a new approach. From weekly to biweekly and alternating routes, the Babes are back and better than ever. Mt. Bonnell who? Plus the first Saturday Babes ride was a smashing success. Don’t forget to give Jordie a high five next time you see her.

SXSW was a weekend to remember. A member exclusive happy hour to kick it all off and we kept the party going right through Saturday afternoon. We’re teaming up with our friends over at EF Adventures for 2025 and beyond, so they hosted us at their Austin HQ for a little look into the brand and what opportunities lie ahead for the BC community.

Things were shaping up to be big on Saturday morning and that didn’t change. Big groups, high speeds, and a ripping tailwind home. What a time!

But the real fun started as soon as we stepped off the pedals. A bar tab on EF, live music from the one and only DJ Grossyall, and our first cask beer collab with Central Machine Works. A little beer garden renovation couldn’t keep the fun away and if all goes to plan we’ll be sharing pints in the shade at the next one.

And just before we closed the books on a big March, we took a few Ride Leaders up to D-town for some flatter miles and even more wind. Friday evening at Manhattan Project feels like a staple at this point – what better way to carb-load than a couple o’ pints? Saturday morning saw the biggest group we’ve had yet in Dallas, and we can’t wait to keep the energy going through the rest of the year. Worth the drive on 35!

April can’t come soon enough…
